Raewyn Roberts born in Rotorua of Te Arawa, Ngati Kikopiri and Ngati Ruanui descent, worked for many years sculpturally in clay.
Raewyn graduated from Whanganui UCOL with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Distinction) in 2004, majoring in Glass. In 2006 she completed Post Graduate Diploma in Art & Design at Auckland University of Technology in Auckland.
Her graduate show work was selected for the NZ Survey of Glass, Southern Exposure Exhibition which toured Denmark in 2004. In a review of the 2004 New and Emerging Glass Artists Australia NZ- Second generation in Seattle. Matthew Kangas in American Glass Quarterly described her work as the most encouraging in the Exhibition, saying that “except for the Libenskys few glass sculptors have sucessfully taken on such strict arrangements”. “Raewyn Roberts may well be the hope of New Zealands next generation of glass artists”.
Raewyn exhibits work regularly in exhibitions, most recently she was selected for ‘Looking Glass’ a selected National Glass Exhibition at the Sarjeant Gallery in Wanganui.
Formerly Wanganui Glass Development Project Manager in a glass community of over 50 practising and glass students from the Wanganui Glass School, she now works from her studio in Wanganui.
Her work was most recently published in New Zealand Glass Art.
